THE ROYAL WEDDING UNVEILED
Suzi - Kent
May 2011
We did this walk as a group booking for a work function and Katy was our guide. It was an excellent walk, thoroughly recommended. Kate knew what she was talking about and kept us very interested. The talk is interesting and it takes you around some lovely parts of London. We enjoyed it so much we were late for our pub booking as we wanted to hear more. Thanks Kate and London Walks for a very enjoyable evening.

I want to attend the royal wedding unveiled walk which would take place on 18 April. What should I need to prepare for that?

Hi Youjia Shi,

Thanks for your note.

There's no need to "prepare". Well, I suppose you could bring an umbrella if you wanted to take no chances at all! Though actually London doesn't get that much rain. Appearances to the contrary. Rome gets more average annual rainfall than London. Chicago gets twice as much. It's just that it often looks as though it's going to rain. But other than that, I can't think of anything at all that you need to do – could do – in the way of preparation. Just turn up at the designated meeting point at the appointed time. The Royal Wedding walk takes place every Monday at 2 pm. (For the record, it also runs very occasionally on a Sunday afternoon.*) Meet the guide just outside the Green Park exit of Green Park Tube Stop. The Green Park exit is the exit that brings you out in the park itself. In fact, the guides – Karen and Katy – will be standing under the tree! And they'll be holding up copies of the distinctive white London Walks leaflet. Just introduce yourself, settle up and hey presto you're on the walk. It couldn't be simpler.

*The Sunday afternoons the walk will take place are March 27, April 10 and April 24. The meeting time for the three Sunday afternoon walks is 2.30 pm. Same meeting point as the 2 pm Monday afternoon tour.

Hope this helps.

Bestest,

This walk had my head spinning. Not just because of the dizzying array of funny and fascinating stories and often hilarious incidents but mostly because of the star power of the guide herself. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in London.

Concerning the new "Royal Wedding walk", I would just like to say “a big thank you” for a very enjoyable, informative and humorous 2 hour and 10 minutes we both had on the inaugural walk, on the 14th February 2011.
Karen our guide was very entertaining, informative and knowledgeable on all things connected to the impending Royal Wedding and historical royal partnerships down the years.
As always, London Walks has yet again given us an outstanding walk (this being our 40th walk to date) and excellent value for money.
